I've been wanting to blog about this for a long time... =P
I'm sure most of us have sufferred from constipation at some point in our lives. When constipated, we will try our best to eat more fibre to help solve the problem. If not effective, then, some of us would resort to laxatives.
I came across this pamphlet (shown below) designed by one of the popular laxative company, simply amusing.
It is a very educational pamphlet too, as it shows us that our poo can come in different shapes and forms. But after looking at it, you will probably think of your food differently. However, it gives us an idea how to manage constipation, especially in children, because kids can't really explain their poo to doctors. So people, choose your poo!

I was looking up my daughter's name in connection with the Bristol Stool Chart for Children 'Choose your Poo ! '. Emma was a student paediatric nurse working at St Richards while doing a bursary University Course at Guildford. It was Emma who realised the need for a children's version of the Bristol Stool Chart and she started from scratch, all these drawings are in her portfolio. It was only after she had finalised it that it was seen by Professor DCA Candy, who then felt it should be published. He offered to get Emma's work published for her. We are disappointed that it reads "Concept by Professor DCA Candy and Emma Davey". It does not reflect that it was her idea and her drawings, which is a great shame. I wish this could be clarified. I'm sure she would love to know how much this has helped children and professionals, which originated from her student time at St Richard's Hospital and University of Surrey in 2002.
