2 days in a row....
2 days failing to cannulate 2 tiny babies...
totally useless...that's me I'm talking about.
sigh...think babies are really difficult to insert IV cannulas in. Firstly, I can't even palpate a vein... Secondly, their veins are super duper fragile. Thirdly, I'm just incompetent!!
I pity the babies that I've tried multiple times to insert a cannula. They must be in pain, especially one of them (which I thought I was successful....Not!). Because I totally blew that poor baby's vein....I formed a big lump while trying to flush it. uurggghh!!
Luckily the parents are patient and understanding...and I felt bad asking the registrars to cannulate the babies...oh well, what can I do.
